On Monday 6 November we will host a very special event. The Schumann Marathon offers over 3 hours of chamber music by the great German composer, performed on period instruments by five exceptional musicians: Isabelle Faust (violin), Anne-Katharina Schreiber (violin), Antoine Tamestit (viola), Jean-Guihen Queyras (cello) and Alexander Melnikov (fortepiano).
The evening’s programme features the performance of some of Schumann’s masterpieces, including the String Quartet op. 41 no. 1, the Piano Quartet op. 47 and the Piano Quintet op. 44, all written in 1842, the year that marked Schumann’s introduction to chamber music.
