On Wednesday 29 November at 8:30pm, we will welcome pianist Nikolay Khozyainov for the first time for an all-Rachmaninov concert.
The programme includes the mighty Sonata no. 1 op. 28, which Rachmaninov himself described as both “long” and “difficult”. The Sonata we originally inspired by Goethe’s story of Faust, and the three movements reflect the charachters ot the three main protagonists of the tragedy: Faust, Gretchen and Mephistopheles.
